Fundraiser
Outdoor movies under the stars are a tremendously popular way of raising funds for the local school, sporting club, community organization and the like. Quite often the movie event is combined with other entertainment such as carnivals, jumping castles, face painting and of course no movie evening is complete without popcorn!
For smaller events up to say about 200 people with modest budgets a DIY solution may offer the best solution. This is where the customer arranges to pick up from our warehouse, sets up and screens the movie and then delivers back after the event. Small systems are easy to set up and operate and require minimal technical knowledge. A 3 metre wide screen has lots of wow factor and is very easy and safe to inflate.
For larger events up to a few thousand people the best solution is our full events service where we come along and set up everything and screen the movie. There is absolutely nothing to do except bring the people along. We can screen the movie, the PowerPoint® for promotional/sponsorship slides, games and play terrific music before the event. We work closely with you to ensure the evening’s success is as big as the H U G E inflatable outdoor movie screen!
To help you make the fundraiser a great success we have prepared a free document which may assist in giving you a few ideas. To download simply push the button!

Sponsorship
We will arrive at the location two hours prior to the start of the event to set up all the equipment. We will inflate our giant movie screen that always attracts attention and makes people want to find out what is going on. At the bottom portion of the screen there is enough space to attach several banners or one large banner that provides information about the event and, most important, mentions the sponsors. These banners will be seen by the audience during the entire event.
To make the event more than an outdoor movie we suggest starting at least 2 to 4 hours before the feature attraction. During the daytime part of the event you could have a bounce house, face painting, games, giveaways and contests. The more time you can give the sponsors to gain exposure the better! Sponsors also might want to use this time to set up a booth to market their products and establish their brands. Most locations allow auto dealers to place their cars, trucks and SUVs around the screen. Real estate
agents might use a booth to discuss market trends and available properties. We provide a wireless microphone for announcements during the entire event. Many non-profits staging these events also choose to operate the concessions; studies show that these concessions alone have earned their operators an average of $1.19 profit from each person in attendance. Our events can typically attract hundreds of attendees, providing ample opportunity for additional, concession-related revenues.
Once the sun goes down and we are able to get an image on the screen we can show Power Point slide shows, DVD commercials and even a live feed, prior to our feature attraction. This is the part of our events the sponsors will see as most beneficial to them for their donation to your organization. Most newspaper ads run as much as $2,500 to $5,200 for a full-page ad; magazines and websites charge $1,400 to $3,200 for ads/web banner, and television requires a minimum of $5,600 per month for commercials. Most of our clients charge $100 to $750 to each sponsor for a simple Power Point slide show prior to the movie.
Gaining seven of these sponsors would earn $3,500 to
$5,250 for your organization. After paying our fee of about $1,500 (depending on size of screen) you would have earned a profit, and that figure does not include concessions, or other optional revenue enhancers such as raffles or audience donations. If you allow a sponsor to set up a booth, add a banner to the screen and have a DVD commercial, you could easily earn $1,200 to $2,000 from each sponsor. It’s possible you could have three major sponsors with full service and have smaller businesses act as basic sponsors for $500 each.
We are here to provide a service that is great for the community and can be a very satisfactory experience for your organization.
Raffles and split the pot
People love games of chance. Our events have seen lots of money made for the host by selling a chance to split the pot with the organization. If you can get businesses to donate some great giveaway items to give away along with the split the pot. This will increase the sell of the split the pot tickets because the audience will know there is more than just one person that will get something for their money.
Over the years we have seen some really creative ways to earn funding. You know your community better than anyone else. You have a better chance of getting your local businesses to support your event, getting the audience to donate to your cause and get those people in there buying up those concessions.
Setting Up Microsoft PowerPoint For Digital Projection
PowerPoint is a very effective tool for preparing promotional slides. On normal computers the aspect ratio is TV standard which is 4:3. However digital projection is similar to LCD and plasma TV which of course are wide screens with an aspect ratio of 16:9. This means if the PowerPoint slide show prepared on a normal computer is then screened on wide screen digital projection the top and bottom of the slide will be lost. This is not a good look! To overcome this problem we have prepared a document to show you how to set up PowerPoint correctly for digital projection. This is a free download simply by clicking the button.

Movie Selection
The latest catalogue from Roadshow available for outdoor movies is available for free download by clicking on the button. The Sony/Tristar movie catalogue is available on line at www.amalgamatedmovies.com . When you have made your selection advise us and we will apply for the licence on your behalf.
We have arranged an exclusive free licence deal with Eagle Entertainment for two of their recent movies for school and community fundraising outdoor movie events. The films are The Ugly Duckling and Me (G) an excellent animation movie and Diamond Dog Caper (PG). These movies could save you some good fundraising dollars!
